Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
The Bible predicts certain conditions leading up to the return of Jesus Christ, in the end times. These prophecies were written thousands of years ago, and they are being fulfilled today!
The Bible says that in the last days:
1. The prophecies in the Bible will be unsealed by God, so that people begin to understand them.
2. Knowledge and travel will greatly increase.
3. People will become:
Proud, materialistic, abusive, ungrateful, unholy, without self control, swollen with conceit, liars, lovers of self, money, pleasures and sexual sin, including homosexuality. They will think nothing of immorality.
There will be a decline of the family unit.
Brother will betray brother, and father will betray his child.
Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.
Many will prefer good times, instead of worshiping.
They will sneer at God and those who try to do good.
People will go to church, but not really believe biblical truths.
They will look for false teachers to tell them what they want to hear.
There will be an increase in false prophets and false religions.
Babylonian occult practices will be revived.
There will be lawlessness.
Sin will be rampant.
Movement towards one world government and one world religion.
Revival of the old Roman Empire.
It is unclear what the United States role will be.
Israel will be restored as a nation with the return of the Jews to their homeland.
The possession of Jerusalem will be the center focus of military and political turmoil.
Nations and kingdoms will rise against each other.
There will be wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilence, earthquakes and other natural disasters.
These signs will increase in frequency and intensity like a woman's labor pains.
Just like in the days of Noah and Lot, many people will be going about their daily lives, unaware of what is about to happen, until it is too late. They will reject the truth of Salvation.
The true Gospel will be preached throughout the whole world.
God will pour out his spirit so that many will have dreams and visions.
Christians will be hated and persecuted.
Jesus will return for his church, before the worst of times.
"When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:28
7. What should Christians do?
Keep watch for the return of Jesus. (No one knows the exact hour or the day, except the Father.)
Pray and study the Bible.
Rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you.
Do not conform to this world, but be a light that leads others to Christ.
Share salvation with the lost.
Jesus has promised that he will never leave us, nor forsake us.
This world is not our home. Our home is in Heaven.
Jesus has already claimed the victory and is coming soon to rescue us.
